Our Philosophy
Outdoor School of Bangkok (Early Years) teaches children through outdoor play and creativity. Children need to spend a portion of their day outdoors to get the natural stimulation and hands-on learning experiences they require to thrive. Being outdoors encourages imaginative play, creativity, hand-eye coordination, balance, physical strength, and mental clarity, as well as increased problem- solving and critical thinking. Additionally, it leads to more cooperation and teamwork and raises children’s environmental awareness skills.
Our Beliefs
We Believe in Childhood!
We believe in getting dirty, splashing in puddles, catching butterflies, hunting for bugs, hugs and kisses, dancing to music, painting with hands and feet, friendship, finding shapes in clouds, jumping from log to log, giggles, spending a hot day in the sprinkler, swinging, togetherness, kindness to all creatures big and small, healthy organic food, gardening, running as fast as the wind, dance offs, singing, rolling on grass, laughing, raising caterpillars, bird and squirrel feeders, reading stories aloud, dress up clothes, tea parties, stopping to smell the flowers and most of all ENJOYING childhood – It all goes by so fast! Therefore, we try to create spaces to keep children fun and excited for learning.
Managing Risk
Life itself is dangerous. Life is full of risks. Without taking risks, no child would ever learn to walk or ride a bike. We believe that children need risk. It is a powerful catalyst for growth that helps them develop good judgment, persistence, courage, resiliency, and self-confidence.
Children are capable
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Therefore, at OSB, every child is unique.
When teachers have a professional certificate, children can achieve much more.
Teachers are facilitators. Professional kindergarten teachers are always assessing children to challenge them to the next step to provide balance between risk and competence.
Therefore, we invest in high quality teachers and staff.
