Celebrating Diversity in OSB Community 2022

Outdoor School Bangkok International Day is always a fun and exciting event, as it brings together students, teachers, and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds. This year, our school decided to celebrate International Day with activities highlighting the different cultures represented in our community.

One of the day’s highlights was the cultural flag parade, where students and parents dressed in traditional attire from their countries of origin. It was a colourful and vibrant display of cultural diversity, and everyone was thrilled to see the different outfits and learn about the flags, traditions, and customs they represented.

Another highlight of the day was the international food fair, where parents and students brought dishes from their home countries to share with the rest of the school community. There was a wide variety of delicious food, from Spanish Montaditos and Chinese hotpot to Italian Focaccia and African stew. It was a great opportunity to try new flavours and learn about different cuisines from around the world.

The fun didn’t stop there, as there were many other activities and presentations throughout the day. Students participated in traditional dance and music performances. They learnt about national animals and currencies, while others participated in arts and crafts workshops – like the Japanese origami workshop or played football games from Brazil.

One of the most rewarding aspects of International Day was the involvement of parents in the planning and execution of the event. Many parents offered to help with setting up and presentations; some even took time off work to come and support their children on the day. It was a great opportunity for parents to get involved in the school community and contribute their skills and expertise.

Overall, International Day at Outdoor School Bangkok was a huge success, and everyone involved had a great time celebrating the cultural diversity of our school community. It was a fun and educational experience for all, and we can’t wait to do it again next year!
